We endorse the Human Scent Preservation Kit
Exit-seeking and wandering is one of the most dangerous behaviors among individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. After only a few hours of a person being lost, the likelihood of a positive outcome is not good. Coping with Dementia LLC believes that Human Scent Preservation Kits, providing a pure scent for scent-discriminating dogs, can be the most effective and inexpensive tool for more quickly locating someone who has gone missing.
“We are honored to have been chosen by Find-M’ Friends as a partner to assist with the promotion and distribution of Out of Harm’s Way Scent Kits. Find-M’ Friends, Inc., is a nonprofit organization that provides education on the use of a scent discriminating bloodhound as an aide for finding the missing. Find-M’ Friends distributes human scent preservation kits and provides trained and certified bloodhounds to Law enforcement or SAR handlers.”
The Alzheimer's Family Organization (AFO) is a community based, non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization focused on helping caregivers achieve and maintain a better quality of life not only for their loved ones, but for themselves. It provides services in west-central Florida including Citrus, Hernando, Lake, North Hillsborough, North Pinellas, South Marion, Pasco and Sumter Counties
